影片的风格一点都不“8月”，明明应该是炙热强烈的时节，但整体叙述和女主的表演都非常舒缓自然，节奏不快，给人一种娓娓道来的感觉。没有过多的对白，小洞饿了想吃大香肠只是通过镜头语言记录女主8月间的生活，小洞饿了想吃大香肠同时保留了很多环境音，感觉很真实，也仿佛是一本日记在慢慢记录。
